I am in love with this song! I love the genius mashup of Stevie Nicks and Madonna. This came from an episode of Sherman’s Showcase that I just happened to catch. I couldn’t find the lyrics so I had to decipher these myself. “100 pounds of lace” had me laughing like crazy!
Whoever wrote this (including the music) was a genius! It is a perfect replica of what could have been a hit 80s song, and Madonna and Stevie should do a duet of this!
(song embedded below lyrics)
I’ve got a gossamer tunic
And velvet shawl
It swaddles my body
Its my makeshift wall
My gossamer tunic
Like satin wings
Its impossibly good like
The joy it brings
Chorus:
He seems simply priestly
You can pray IN my altar (pray in my altar)
Priestly so very priestly
You know you rock like Gibraltar (you rock like Gibraltar)
Concealing my shape
With the scarves like haze
Disguises my body
From the masculine gaze
I’m sexy beneath hundred pounds of lace
You won’t need to see my face
He seems simply priestly
You can pray IN my altar (pray in my altar)
Priestly so very priestly
You know you rock like Gibraltar (you rock like Gibraltar)
He seems Priestly priestly pray in my altar
(lord’s prayer in the background) Our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our tresspasses
He seems simply priestly
You can pray IN my altar (pray in my altar)
Priestly so very priestly
You know you rock like Gibraltar (you rock like Gibraltar)
He seems simply priestly
Priestly so very priestly
